Danny Glover Isn’t Happy With The Man
UC commencements just aren’t what they used to be, are they? In a stunning (STUNNING!) turn of events, the esteemed Danny Glover might not be showing up at Commencement after all.
May 1 Actor Danny Glover said he won’t speak at the University of California-Berkeley graduation unless the university settles a pay dispute with custodians.
Glover, 60, could join a long list of politicians and community activists who have boycotted several UC campuses over the matter, the Oakland (Calif.) Tribune said Tuesday.
“Because of my relationship with unions, I felt it was imperative that I support (the custodians),” Glover, a long-time union supporter, told the newspaper.
It’s been a tough year for the Glover machine. First he lumps himself with that Venezuelan leader who looks like an aging and more annoying Carlos Mencia, then he decides the mayoral position for SF is beyond his capacities. Now the infamous UC cartel is keeping him from speaking to a platform of possibly ardent supporters–and it’s likely even they don’t give a crap.
You know, if there’s anyone to blame for the Lethal Weapon’s downfall from relevance, it’s probably films like this. Don’t you think?
