“One of the Most Heartfelt Films I’ve Seen in Years.”

To ease you into “Dead Week” (what a stupid term–when has a week lasted only two days?), we bring you the new Berkeley short movie on Facebook, “Hide and Seek”. We empathize with the themes of loneliness and isolation, but we’re uncertain as to what the exact conflict is. Not to mention it’s difficult for us to figure who is who, since no actual dialogue or description is given. They expect the lazy audience to figure out the difference?

Despite these shortcomings, there are two very important things this video does that most undergraduate productions fail at. One, nobody is talking. This is important because students rarely have anything valuable to say. Two, there is hipster music playing in the background. This is important because images speak louder than words, and music yells over both of these things. And YouTube NEVER has enough music mixes.

And we feel for those gals. We really do. We think these sweet Filipinas need some gentle love from your humble editor. Dates at Cheeseboard perhaps? And if they’re willing to experiment like most Cal ladies, we can take it one step further. Have threesomes ever been bad for the world?
