We Will Outdrink You to Death

Bow to our sheer manly nerdiness. Cal rugby is on top again.
In a rematch of last year’s final, the University of California beat Brigham Young 37-7 Saturday to win the 23rd national collegiate championship in the school history. The Bears combined ruthless efficiency with their possessions and stingy defense when threatened at their goalline to come away with their second straight title victory over the Cougars.
This would be the point where we’d offer some deep, insightful analysis of the sport at hand, but we know as much about the game of rugby as our President knows about the conducting of wars. Instead, we looked for visual evidence of awesomeness, and thought we hit gold when we YouTubed a supposed Cal-Stanford rugby video of their 83-0 beatdown. Unfortunately, the genius frat that created that video was just doing a fast-motion event of their St. Patty’s day drinking festivities, and didn’t even bother to film any part of the game. Way to go DKE, for drawing your audience with a misleading title and waste minutes of our lives watching your moronic drinking habits. Assholes.
