Eating in Berkeley Closed? Check GopherNow

If you’re at a loss for figuring out what crappy joint to order food from after a long-ass cramfest of a study session, GopherNow might be just the website you’re looking for. Here you will finally understand that Berkeley does not operate like normal cities do on a 24 hour schedule. No, it is a policy of the paternalistic policies of the Berkeley City Council to have all food joints shutting down as early as possible to avoid the supposed crime spillover that comes from extra businesses (although the new Telegraph laws might change a little of that so the shitty food places stay open).
And we totally agree with this. Lord knows what garbage could spill out if we kept the damned city open longer hours. Businesses might make more money, we might be able to afford shelters for the homeless and all the other stuff that residents bitch about not having. It also might not be such a dark and scary place at night for many students with a thriving commercial sector. But why fix the problem when you can bemoan the federal government not giving you a hand?
Oh yeah, about the website. GopherNow provides you with the convenient notion that the Dennys in Emeryville is really the only place to find 24 hour dining (and subsequent 24 hour diahrrea). West Coast generally seems to be the latest place to order nearby, unless you’re interested in trekking over to SF to pick up your food. Search for a particular entry of food (Mexican, pizza, Indian, crap) and a particular location and you will find what you’re looking for.
