Oh Wait A Minute, There Was an Earthquake?
If you weren’t acting like this at 4:42 this morning…well, we don’t know what to think of you.

Cal Football! 2006! Uh…2006? Anyone?
It’s a quiet time of the year around the Berkeley blogosphere. Most students are out toiling away at fruitless internships, slowly coming to the horrible realization that they hate the career they’ve sought after (which is cool–your editor figured that out at his position last year). Others are slowly crumbling under the fact that they [...]
Downloading Simplicity, Part II–VLC Media Player
Media players have historically been a bitch to use. Windows Media Player appeals to the stoner in all of us with their obsession with visualizations. Realplayer is a festival of terror, as anyone who’s had to upload webcasts can attest. Quicktime does its best to live up by its namesake by taking several minutes and [...]
Downloading Simplicity, Part I–Foxit Reader and PDF Creator
(School is coming sooner than you think. While you toil away at your internships/jobs/summer sessions, we’ll be providing some hopefully useful downloads to simplify your computer taskmaking.)
You’ve all experienced it. You’re trying to print some important document that requires PDF to upload. Clearly, you must go to Adobe Acrobat, your lone solution for downloading the [...]

Irony Can Be Sweet
You know, sometimes protecting the things that you love requires some distance to ensure you don’t impair your relationship any further. Otherwise who knows what could happen? Things could get thrown, names could be shown, another guy’s…face could be blown. Well, our favorite Oaks certainly got the raw end of this relationship.

Change of Pace
We’ll be changing how things run here. Although we’ll occasionally provide our somewhat snarky view of events, we’ll start writing with a stronger focus on helping simplify your overcomplicated lives. We had this in mind with the Telebears series, but we sort of strayed off the path during Finals week and into summer. We’ll be [...]
More Time Off For Us
No one’s using the Internet these dog days, so it’s the perfect time for maintenance for us. We will not be posting for the next few days while we make some changes in design and layout. We’ll be back to regular posting hopefully by the middle of next week.

The Bears Are Migrating (Travel Blog Roundup)
We haven’t been the only Cal students traveling outside the country these past few weeks. Here are other adventurous students reporting their summer travels. (Thanks to Our Sturdy Golden Bear for helping to share the experiences of our fellow students!)
Barriers to Exiting
If people gave us two words to describe Cal students, it’s ‘industriously lazy’. Here is an example of their deductive skills in action…
“They’re doing it. Why can’t we do it too? Wooee, let’s go!”
(Just to let you know, it is a slooow week in these parts…)
