Thomas Sowell Calls for Coup D’Etat
Every now and then, human beings (even the smartest among us) say something terribly shortsighted that can come back to haunt us. We’re not sure if Stanford’s Hoover Institute conservative mainstay Thomas Sowell is longing for attention, but more frequently it seems he says something that leaves you scratching your head.
When I see the worsening degeneracy in our politicians, our media, our educators, and our intelligentsia, I can’t help wondering if the day may yet come when the only thing that can save this country is a military coup.
Thomas Sowell is one of the greatest political and cultural commentators of our time (see The Vision of the Anointed and Knowledge and Decisions to get an idea of why). But now that he’s past his prime and he’s let his political voice be heard, he always seems bound to say something a wee bit insane. Even between that dope we have in the White House and a General Jack Ripper-type, I’m bound to go with the former.
The article in general makes plenty of sense, but come on Professor. You know if humans don’t believe in God, they have to find something to believe in to keep on going with the rest of us. It’s all motivation for the end.
