Introducing…Stokke Inflation
I think we’re going to have to come up with a new term for behavorial economists after another ill-informed list of hottest college campuses: We’ll call it Stokke Inflation.
Definition of Stokke Inflation: (n.) A drastic increase in the net hotness of a population based on small samples of beauty.

Wow, we’re the 14th hottest student body in the nation? How come I never see any of them? Oh, that’s right, I’m a blogger. Bloggers only dream about meeting such specimens because we never leave our house. Oh, plus the fact that we refer to them as specimens rather than fellow human beings could also be a deal-breaker.
I actually think Cal has a pretty good-looking mix of women, thanks in part to the international student influx, the overall strength of Cal athletics, and the mythical reach for diversity. That doesn’t stop me from completely meeting no one damnit! It’s my right! Girls are ugly! It’s not us guys who suck at interacting and suffer from vast inferiority complexes, allowing the dopes at this school to scoop them up from us! It’s none of that!
Looking at the rest, I do not traverse the Pac-10 much, but from anecdotes and hyperbole these rankings seem about right. I’m surprised UCLA is seven spots higher then Cal considering (1) Cal students and UCLA students are similar by demographic, (2) Cal students and UCLA students are about on the same level of attraction, (3) Cal students are smarter than UCLA students. I’m guessing it gets the LA bump. Or maybe it’s just because our cheerleaders look fresh from the 1950s. I can’t disagree with anything else, although Stanford should be about 100 spots lower.
Time for everyone else to disagree with me. Is Cal the 14th hottest student body in the nation?
